This morning when Mikayla woke up from her nap I was holding her and getting ready to feed her. She was soooo smiley I thought she was just in such a good mood. All of a sudden she scrunched her arms and legs and out came the explosion of the poo all over Mommy and baby. Then when I went to change her she seemed to be a little happier so I stood back to watch her a minute and she let out the biggest toot and scared herself and started crying. The joys of being a baby! She is much more playful and alert now when she is awake so I took a video of her...here she is...

Too Hot for Clothes!!!!!!!!

We dont normally say anything about it being too hot up here in Canada but when it is....we miss things like Air Condition...swimming pools...and any other necessity of the summer in the states! Anyways Mikayla is 11 weeks old and today she finally had her first sucessful thumb sucking!!!! It sounds like a small thing but to us its pretty big when for the past couple of weeks she balls her fist up and tries her hardest to find her thumb! She is much more alert than she use to be so she has started recognizing Mommy and Daddy and smiling lots more.

Mikayla is 10 weeks old and growing like crazy! She had a very cute lady bug dress that I purchased for her when she was a few weeks old...and I thought I'd wait and let her wear it to church ...so thinking since it says "0-3" months that she was okay for a few more weeks. Well Daddy put the dress on her and off we went to church. During sacrament meeting I was holding her and I looked down to see that the bloomers were cutting into her chubby legs! Ahhh so needless to say she ended up half dressed and will never wear the cute little dress I bought! She has started cooing and babbling a little bit so this has been fun to see! She also has this little fake cry when she wants to be held or have attention that Jonathan and I just laugh at. She has started sleeping in her crib for parts of the night and last night Jonathan and I attempted to play a few board games while she was asleep. All of a sudden we heard this scream that sounded like a child playing outside or something because Mikayla's cries have never been that loud and went up to find our little Missy almost like she had a bad dream!

anyways I'm getting a few more hours of sleep and feeling a little more confident of this whole mommy thing! WE love Mikayla!

Happy 9 weeks! Mikayla is now 12lbs! She had her shots on Monday and took it way better than any other shot I've been given! She was given 3 different needles...and she screamed for abou 1 minute! and the Nurse was able to calm her right down....after that she was fine and fell asleep for the rest of the afternoon! but other than that she is has been quite trying for me lately and very fussy so I hope she grows out of this ....here she is....and yes she definately is a daddies girl (and mommies-for obvious reasons :-)

Jonathan and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary over the weekend and we went up to the Calgary Tower for a nice dinner. Mikayla was so good and slept the entire time....but that also ment she was up the entire night!

Well Mikayla is now 8 weeks old! and here is her latest wrapping of the fingers around daddys hand...

Also She is getting really strong so Jonathan had the idea of trying to get her to scoot on the floor and she did this for a good 15 mins!

She is going through a growth spurt righ tnow so not much sleep for me....this morning she all of a sudden just started screaming like she was hurt or something....so I looked down at her and she had the fingernail monster visit her! She had scratched the side of her nose and there was blood all over the one side of her face...poor little thing...so I decided not to be scared of hurting her with the nail clippers and chopped them down! Well we gotta go for now...
