Time passes by so fast....
when your little girl has an ear infection!
Anyways we are still alive and doing well.
Valentines Day is just around the corner....no crazy get-aways this year
but I have a great hubby and a very active (and cute) 21 month old!
What more can I ask for :-)
Any cute Valentines ideas that you've used?

I know I am not the most educated person.
I also know that I don't follow politics as well as I should...
I don't usually like forwarded emails either....but this ticked me off so bad that I feel like I might go smack someone (or something worse)...

After being told that I may not EVER have children and then being blessed with our little Mikayla I can't imagine ANYONE who is sane actually wanting to do something like a partial birth abortion.
Because I have such a strong view of this...I won't comment anymore. Only to not offend someone of the opposing side. I just hope that when anyone makes a decision as big as that they will ponder, pray, and go watch someone like many friends of mine who have struggled to conceive a child and then decide. What would you choose?

Up late once again....this time Mikayla is sleeping peacefully
but I guess with all the late nights with her lately I've somehow become a night owl....
I can't believe I'm even saying that! I have never liked staying up late really ever.
but a few thoughts came to me and I hope some comments (or suggestions) of Mommies can help!
Eventually (and no we will not say when) we want to have more children. But sometimes I worry how I can handle one little angel girl I've been blessed with. So how in the world do you do it???? Have more than one child that is..?????

Anyways more snow on its way to SLC and We discovered a new dog park right near our home. Jonathan, Mikayla and I went there today with our puppies. I think Mikayla liked running around more than the dogs. I don't think it was the wisest thing she did to eat some snow but hey it wasn't like it was yellow. We made a monster snowman with Mikayla- and while driving home I realized that I just rolled up wet snow in a dog park! Luckily I didn't see any yellow or brown decorations on the snow when I was rolling. So maybe we'll go back to make another one tomorrow. Yummm!

January is here already. I am still shocked that we have been out of Canada for almost a year now! I will always reminisce this past year there were a lot of Firsts:

10-We moved in the middle of winter to a less cold Winter....still burrrrrrrrrr

9- We have our own home! we love this home, lots of space, beautiful and of course did I mention no more crazy Landlords or Old Grumpy Neighbors!...and lots of room for the Puppies!

8- Jonathan is now loving his new job with his Dad & of course....working from home..... (should we say why he really likes working from home- lets just say it includes his first name "Jon")

7- Mikayla celebrated her First Birthday & her First Cupcake....and the sweets have never stopped!

6-I attempted my first vegetable Garden mostly on my own (with the help of My mom and Husband)

5- Jonathan and I celebrated a quiet but very Happy 5th Anniversary!

4- We went on an amazing Baker Vacation to Alaska! Mikayla was treated like a princess!

3- Mikayla is now very active, talking lots Mostly saying her favorite things like: apples, candy, crackers, juice, Addie, Nana (Corrina), Mommy, Daddy, MoeMoe, Boooos (Blues Clues), Elmo

2- I have lost so much weight from nursing Mikayla and staying fit- that mere strangers feel the need to comment on my skinniness (I even went to the Dr. to make sure I was healthy!)

1- Enjoyed Many wonderful trips to Seattle to visit Grandma & Grandpa Thompson & Uncle Ryan
This Christmas was the most quiet Christmas that Jonathan and I will see for a long time!
Christmas Eve, We started a new tradition that I hope to continue. We went with our Friends downtown to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights, then onto a yummy dinner at Benihanas. Yummm!

You can't really tell but there was a Camel behind Mikayla and her friend Luke- she calls them Nay-Nays (I guess it kind of looks like a horse to her)

Mikayla with Grandpa Baker

I was so excited for the presents that Santa would bring Mikayla that I could hardly sleep! It almost reminded me of when I was a kid and I would get sick because I was so excited!

We awoke to our lights out and freezing cold. Our Power went out only an hour before we woke up but with the crazy winds out here in B.F.West Jordan we got up and opened presents very quickly. Jonathan conquered the gusty winds and dug out our 6 feet of snow drifted driveway! and Mikayla started to get acquainted with a few new toys! Mikayla's favorite toy was Moe-Moe in Mikayla words: Nemo. She is addicted to that fish! She also got a very cool Kitchen set, a beautiful Baby Doll, a fun play house, some cool puzzles and a few other neat toys. And yes I think I have enjoyed the variety of her new toys more than she has! She is just starting to use a few Birthday toys that were a little old for a 1 year old....so I guess I could slow down on thinking what I can get her for birthday #2!

Anyways to summarize our Chilling Christmas....it was nice to stay home and be together as our little family this year. I definitely missed all the funny gag gifts and laughter of my Family Christmas growing up but I know it only gets louder as Mikayla gets older!
We hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and were able to stay warm!
