So before we ever decided to have a baby I contemplated different things like- having to change diapers 24-7 and cleaning up things I wouldn't ever think of in my scariest dreams. I always knew it wouldn't be an easy job and that I would have to do things I didn't want to... well here it goes. This has no pictures so I can spare Mikayla some embarrassment in her future.
These are the 3 greatest Poo stories of Mikayla so far- the worse part is I can't even imagine this getting any worse!!!!!!!
First was when she was about 5 months old she sat in her new bumbo chair and of course this is the perfect pooing position. I was watching a friends little boy as well so I didn't really have any extra hands to clean up....but she pooped all the way up to her neck and when I picked her up the liquid poo was pouring out of outfit and a puddle of this mess was in her chair. I wrapped her in a blanket carried her up to the tub and she had a bath! Ahh clean again
The second was definitely bad luck because my little brother had just asked me the day before "Julie, What is the worse mess of Mikayla's you've ever changed?" We were stuck in Seattle traffic coming home and I thought she was just fussy. So when we stopped to get a few groceries I opted to change her in the van- thinking this would be the normal poo. Well this poo was also not-so-normal. She had had too many grapes that day and ohhhh yes liquid poo everywhere in her new pink car seat, her hair!!!, just trust me it was everywhere! And yes I was by myself again changing this. I did have the little brother as an on looker! with the teenage comments like "ewe that is so gross" and "I am never having kids."
Number 3 yet again- TODAY I called her Dr. worried about a bumm rash that has been an extreme for the past two days. It was recommended to let her sleep with a diaper off so she can "air out" So I kept checking on her so she wouldn't pee/poo in her bed. Well the quiet little one woke up and I thought Oh good I was just about to check on her again. So I went in to find poo EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! hair, hands, blankets, back you name it she did it (luckily she still was sucking on her binky.....and I checked to make sure she didn't sample any!!! AHHHH the joys of being a mommy!!!
And I want another one???

Ryan ....well of course he loved the NAKED MOLE RATS!!!
The best was Mikayla loving Grandpa Thompson. He always would take her outside to feed the animals. This included Mikayla carrying the corn- so she of course had to eat some herself-

Mikayla had a lot of "firsts" on this that definately can't be ignored. We had a fun time with
*I had my picture taken by atleast 10 oriental people.
*I broke my first plate and spilt a glass of water.
The END! (This is me after a long week!)

The first video is a few seconds of her in the bath. She seems to enjoy the camera lately so she didn't sing like normal..but she is still funny.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2776790030214970061&hl=en
The next two...you have to play in order ...We had a huge rain storm so our backyard got quite flooded in spots...Mikayla decided to help the situation out by sitting in a puddle and drinking it! YUmmy! Play this first: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7717937639991403034&hl=en
Play this Second: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4497776352988473943&hl=en
The last one was requested by Grandpa Thompson...I purchased some squeaky sandals for her yesterday for our trip so she LOVES these shoes....

Happy Summer!
5 things that have happened this month:
5. Fireworks! We saw REAL 4th of JULY Fireworks! Legal and Illegal ones! Mikayla was quite intrigued by the illegal ones our neighbors were doing because she would hear the crash sound and that would scare her...then she would see these great bright lights. The dogs...well scared to death of course!
4. Lots of Playing outside. Mikayla has learned that things don't just disappear so she knows where her bubble toys are and wants to play with them at least 5 times a day!
Grandpa if this isn't the face.....Well its pretty close to it!
This is of course after Jonathan threw the hose in the pool and it hit Mikayla- He got in trouble by me so I made him pick her up while she was all wet...wet soggy diaper, clothes and all!...and this is how he repays me...nice... *** I had to take out this picture.....so don't worry he'll get his!
3. Mikayla got to meet my best friend Carole, and her two cute kids Emiline & Shane. I already miss them! **** picture to be inserted soon**
2. Mommy Changing tons of lovely #3's (liquid poo) Mikayla got some sort of bug!
Popsicles always a must in this heat!
Oh yeah I'm not sure if I ever posted this because I've been a lot more busy since...but Mikayla is walking lots and learning how to run as well.
I never knew how much trouble she was until those little feet started moving faster! Our Puppies even hide from her!
As for Jonathan and I -we are having so much fun enjoying every second of this little girl! We also are having fun with our new Wii Nintendo and of course just relaxing when Mikayla is asleep. Ahhh the quiet!
Mikayla and the Fake Wallet...she thinks this is my wallet I use when we go shopping....so she likes to sneak around with it! and take it outside- as she is about to do here.
This last picture is for Auntie Bree - don't worry I cleaned these up today...but aren't they cute!

The top 5 things I miss about Canada are......
1. The most beautiful summer days...and nights -midnight walks when its just starting to get dark!
2. It rarely gets really hot!..... the heat is killing me! I am glad we didn't move down in the summer or I wouldn't be able to handle it!
3. Chinese Food....is wayyyyyyyy better up there....in fact any type of Ethnics food (minus the Mexican food of course) is soooo good. Like our favorite place... Cilantro for some amazing food!
4. There is enough diversity that I don't feel like I am white bread stuck in the middle of a wonder bread loaf...that is frozen of course ...and then thawed - gotta love the Utah Mormons!
5. The amazing friends that we had...that we miss all the time...wondering if Shannon found any more random rude people at Tim Horton's....or if Tanya is going to find Teo doing any crazy toilet tricks....or Amanda finding Walker or Jackson getting into mischief! or of course our Work friends who every day found a way to tell us how many days there were until the Stampede.
And to make you laugh....here is the explanation of this video. I was trying to teach Mikayla to be quiet in Church one day...so when she started screaming like normal...I patted her mouth so it made sort of an Indian noise....like ma-ma-ma-ma.... so she thought it was funny and before I knew it she started her own way of doing this....with food in her mouth....and of course some dancing while she's eating..... I have been trying to capture this for a few weeks now- so I am glad I had my camera out at good old Village Inn...
Well Mikayla is walking soooo much now. I can't believe that in just a few short days she is now walking instead of crawling everywhere! Because of this...she now loves the backyard. She loves playing in the puppies water....and caring things around (like our nice spoons) to find dirt clots!!!! YUmmmy!
Having fun with a little visit from Uncle Ryan...who she has always taken a liking too!...and of course for another laugh...Ryan isn't use to the UV rays so High so I put some sunscreen on his back while he was helping Jonathan with some yard work.....as you can see I think I missed a spot!
